Privacy

The part where… collects as close to nothing as we can manage:

No accounts, no emails, no tracking cookies, no ads.
We log search queries anonymously (the text, how many results it got, how fast) to improve the index. Queries are not linked to you.
Your IP address is used transiently for rate limiting (so bots can't hammer the search) and expires from that system within minutes. It is not stored in our database.
Video previews use YouTube's privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com), which does not set tracking cookies unless you press play. Once you play a clip, YouTube's own privacy policy applies to the playback.
